With the golf industry taking a heavy hit in 2008 many courses across the country suffered drastic reductions in budgets, which impacted maintenance staff and budgets. In 2015 El Rio’s new management committed significant resources to get the course back to the quality conditions it was known for upon opening in 2006.
Many of the holes at El Rio take on the iconic landforms and similar playability feel of his uncle Pete’s’ legendary golf courses, Dye created fun, memorable golf holes in one of the most beautiful settings in the west at El Rio just 20 minutes to the north of Laughlin, Nevada.
Since Summer of 2015, the course has been getting better and better, greens rolling fast, definition in fairways and roughs, and a much improved golf experience.
